Adding your server takes under a minute

GameSelectHQ pulls live status directly from your server over its native query protocol (Source/A2S, Minecraft, FiveM, SA:MP, and dozens more) — there's nothing to install on the server itself, and nothing to keep updating by hand.

Step 1 — Pick your game

From the games catalog, open the game your server runs. Every listed game is already wired to the right query protocol, so you don't need to know or configure anything about how the check happens.

Step 2 — Enter your address

On the game page, choose Add a server and enter the server's IP and port (or a hostname, if that's what you connect with). That's the only input required — no account verification step, no ownership proof, no waiting for manual review.

Step 3 — It queries itself into the directory

Within seconds, GameSelectHQ reaches out to your server using its query protocol and pulls back the real hostname, current map, and player count. If the query succeeds, your server goes live immediately.

Staying accurate without doing anything

Once listed, your server is re-queried automatically on a regular interval. If it goes offline, that's reflected honestly — GameSelectHQ doesn't keep showing a stale "online" status for a server that stopped responding.

If the query fails

A failed query usually means one of:

  • The port in the query protocol doesn't match what you entered (some games use a separate query port from the connect port — check your server's config for the actual query port).
  • A firewall or NAT rule is blocking inbound UDP/TCP to that port.
  • The server was still starting up at the moment it was checked — try again once it's fully up.

If it keeps failing, double-check the address against what a player would actually type to connect, and confirm the port is reachable from outside your own network (a query from inside your LAN can succeed even when the outside world can't reach it).

Once you're listed

From your account, you can favorite servers, leave reviews on ones you play, and see your own servers' live player history on their detail pages. If you want more visibility for a specific server, real promotion tiers (VIP, boosted placement) are available from Pricing — but listing itself is, and stays, free.
